1518 Re-born series
1518 is a furniture community made up of small and medium-sized manufacturers with the slogan Made by community. We were involved in branding and did all the product direction / design for the 1st collection. By not only carefully unraveling the characteristics of participating manufacturers, but also multiplying them with the needs of users, we have developed a series that is easy to match with the interior space while taking advantage of the characteristics.
The PIPE chair is a redesign of the foldable pipe chair that has been manufactured by NORITSUISU Co., Ltd for decades. We applied new colors and textures that would match with modern-day home interiors, and public spaces.
The JIM desk was designed to accommodate the post COVID demand for home offices. This compact desk is made with the best of sheet-metal processing technology by Alps Steel Co., Ltd. We reorganized the size and storability of a typical desk found in a faculty office, and updated the design.
Similarly, the JIM chair was also designed to accommodate the post COVID demand for home offices. Unlike modern office chairs, this classical office chair is composed with 4 legs, making it compact and suitable for home environments. With NORITSUIS’s technology, we were able to pursue a comfortable seating experience.
1518はMade by communityをスローガンとした中小メーカーが集まって構成された家具コミュニティです。弊社はその中でブランディングから関わり1st collectionのプロダクトディレクション / デザインをすべて行いました。参加メーカーの特性を丁寧に紐解くだけでなく、それをユーザーのニーズと掛け合わせることで、特性を活かしつつインテリア空間にマッチしやすいシリーズを展開した。
PIPE chairは株式会社ノーリツイスで昔から作り続けられているパイプ椅子をリデザインし、現代の生活空間やオフィス、公共空間でも使いやすい質感と色味にすることで、新たな使用シーンを生み出した。
JIM deskはアフターコロナのホームオフィス需要に最速で適応できるよう、株式会社アルプススチールの板金技術の粋を集め作られたコンパクトデスクである。昔ながらの職員室にあったようなデスクから収納性やサイズを再構成し、アップデートした。
JIM chairも同じくホームオフィス需要にあわせ、ノーリツイスで作り続けられている昔ながらの事務椅子をリデザインした。昨今のオフィスチェアと違いコンパクトな四本脚でデザインされ、質感もホーム向けに最適化しているため、ホーム空間に入れても大げさにならず、よく馴染むようになった。ノーリツイスで培った知見はそのまま活かされているため、快適な座り心地を追求することができた。
