We have designed a furniture series for ASTEP's new brand, TAKETORI. Exploring forms that capitalize on the natural characteristics and aesthetic values of bamboo laminated timber through ASTEP’s advanced processing techniques, we crafted a presence that evokes scenes of savoring the passage of time when the collection comes together.

Prayer - Player
Utilizing bamboo laminated timber, this speaker achieves a soft, rich sound with vibrant high frequencies. Moving away from a conventional speaker appearance, it is designed to sit at the center of an interior space, delivering 360-degree music. Its presence feels as if a performer itself is warmly looking after the family.

Kagi Lounge Chair
Featuring prominent L-shaped armrests, this lounge chair is envisioned for spaces like hotel lounges, where arranging chairs in four directions creates a soft enclosure. Even when placed in a home setting, the broad armrests and spacious comfort foster a rich atmosphere that encourages open, relaxed family conversations.

TAKE Side Table
This side table focuses on a form that highlights the thickness of the bamboo laminated timber and the rich texture of its vascular bundles. The result is a design that feels substantial and weighty, yet remains easy to handle and move.

Playable Objects
Playable Objects serve as artistic sculptures as well as toys for children. They are crafted using child-safe bamboo and plant-based adhesives. The shapes are derived from childhood memories of picking up everyday objects along the roadside and imagining them as toys.
