I am attracted to industrial materials. Sheet material is one of the standard shapes established in this era of mass production. Various charms appear when the sheet is constructed three-dimensionally. Solid and blank, front and back, rough and dense, tension and relaxation. Differences in expression depending on the material. Formal beauty and structural beauty as an industrial material. I am researching the possibilities of the formal beauty of sheets more thoroughly.

For this work, I wanted to capture the charm of flowers, which are generous, delicate, and fleeting. Although it is a theme that everyone imagines, by attempting it with sheet material, I was able to create an unnatural flower object that seems to exist somewhere but not, light yet industrial, seems to be a different variety but made of a different material, seems to flow with time but is not affected by time, and I hope to be recognized as a natural cycle that I admire.

私は工業素材に魅力を感じている。シート材はこの大量生産の時代に確立された規格形状の1つである。シートを立体的に構成することで現れる様々な魅力。立体と余白、表と裏、粗と密、緊張と緩和。素材による表情の違い。工業素材としての形式美と構造美。私はシートという形式美の可能性をより突き詰めて研究している。

今回の作品は大らかで繊細で儚い花の魅力をどうにか捉えられないかと考えた。誰もが想い描くテーマではあるがシート材で試みることで、どこかにあるようで無いような、軽やかでありながら工業的な、品種が違うようで素材が違う、時の流れがあるようで時間の影響を受けていないような、そんな自然循環に憧れ認められたいと願う、未自然体の花のオブジェクトができた。
