Audi Flower vase
To celebrate the debut of the new Audi A3, I appeared in the "Progressive Design for a Better Life" special movie featuring three creators who are active in different fields. While looking at the Audi A3 and touching on its design philosophy, I talked about my own design attitude.
On that occasion, I designed a flower base inspired by the Audi A3. Inspired by the powerful three-dimensional appearance of Audi, which can be seen in the details of the entire body and air intake, and the airiness of the steel sheet metal technology, which is the basic material for the exterior of the car. In addition, the shape of the single frame front grill is sampled to give it a function as a spacer. And in honor of Audi's sustainable activities, the design recycles steel sheet metal scraps.
新型Audi A3のデビューを記念し、異なるフィールドで活躍する3人のクリエイターが出演する、《Progressive Design for a Better Life》スペシャルムービーに出演し、Audi A3を眺めそのデザイン思想に触れながら、自身のデザイン姿勢などについてお話しさせていただきました。
その機会に際し、Audi A3にインスパイアされたフラワーベースをデザインしました。ボディ全体やエアインテーク等のディテールにみられるAudiらしい力強い立体感と、車外装の基本素材であるスチール板金技術を活かしたエアリーさを兼ね合わせた造形からヒントを得ています。またシングルフレームフロントグリルの形状をサンプリングし、植物のスペーサーとしての機能を与えている。そしてAudiのサステナブルな活動に敬意を払い、スチール板金の端材を再使用したデザインにしている。
